Read on to see how the new ripmo stacks up to the original. The bottom bracket sits 340mm off the ground with 435mm chainstays. It makes for an effi cient posi tion that can go the long haul with out plac ing too much weight on its slack. The ripmo af uses 160mm post mount rear brake mounts.

Considering its long and slack geometry and heavier weight the ripmo af is no slouch on the climbs. All mountain enduro travel. Geometry of the ripmo is a radical change for ibis and a timely entry in the category. The enduro i builtcomes in at 33 5 pounds with pedals.

Same weight as my bike park bike. The head tube angle is 65 8 degrees and the seat tube angle measures a steep 76 1 degrees. Our test bike weighed in at 31 lbs on the nose set up tubeless and without pedals. The weight of the ripmo af tested here is 31 25lbs.

At 34 lbs in size large it s not zippy like some short travel carbon bike mind you but it has good angles and a steady pedaling platform. 145mm rear 160mm front wheel size. Rear brake cable routing is always a troublesome one. It looks a lot like the original but the new ripmo has a slacker head tube angle and a longer wheelbase for more downhill shred ability.

25 lbs with a dpx2 shock and com plete builds start at 28 lbs. The chainstays measure 436mm and the wheelbase is 1220mm. Ibis ripmo intended use. We were lucky enough to get a frameset in for an early test.

The lines of the ripmo are unmistakably ibis. Respectably light builds can still be had for those willing to invest in key upgrades such as the wheels. The bike hit the scales at an impressive 29 lbs 7 oz without pedals or tubes. The rip mo weighs a svelte 6.

That s respectable for such a big bike but it s also worth over ten grand. Compare that to the carbon ripmo which weighs 6 1lbs with a fox float dpx2. Weight is around 29 5 lbs with big crank brothers platform pedals. The ripmo af frame weighs in at 8 25lbs for a medium with a dvo topaz shock.
