Combi Boiler Hot Water Takes Long Time

The boiler is either set to constant or timed for the heating to come on which is when the numbers rise and at any other time if the heating is on or not you still get hot running water it just takes a bit of the water to run hot.

I ve recently had a new combi boiler fitted worcester greenstar 25si compact to replace an 18 year old british gas c1 that failed and currently i m not overly impressed. I have a worcester 24i rsf combi boiler. It is sited 1 5 meters from the kitchen sink which has mixer taps. Before that time around 15 years ago combi boilers were only just incorporating condensing technology and went through a period of change and fine tuning.

Today at a sink in laundry room close to boiler the water started hot then went cold and did not cycle back to hot. Ours is brand new and we have a long wait for hot water. When i turn the kitchen hot tap on i can have the water running for up to 30 seconds before the boiler fires and starts actively heating water. I ve opened it up and found that the gas isn t burning straight away as it did before.

Now combi boilers are considered high efficiency water heater and central heating units which means that they can both heat your home and provide hot water without the need for a separate water tank. Takes a few seconds to heat the water anyway so it will take a while to get hot water to the ground floor does it still take a long time to get hot water in the bathroom if it does call out a plumber you can get plumbers with no call out. Sometimes though not always if i reduce the flow rate the water heats up more quickly.
